And today too...
[pic]
Solo promotion starting from the afternoon
First was "Seiyuu Animedia," on sale 9/10. Then "Seiyuu Gran Prix," also on sale 9/10. Then "Anison Magazine," on sale 9/8. Then "Anime TV," on air 8/23.
After that was JAM rehearsal for America. Finally, it ended with JAM's interview with "Anison Magazine," on sale 9/10.
I got home after 10...we head out for America early tomorrow, so I'm packing carefully so that I won't forget anything, then I'll have a quick drink and go right to sleep (LOL)
Well, goodnight...

Hiroshi Kitadani Diary Update - August 4, 2008
Today is...
[pic]
my solo album's promotion day.
Television recording and Kuma-chan's Animetic Land (8/10~) as usual. Also as usual, Anikan-san, which will be published on the album's sale day, 8/27.
We had an energetic and fun conversation.
There's gonna be a bunch of recording and interviews and stuff tomorrow too.

Hiroshi Kitadani Diary Update - 1/19/2008, 1/22/2008, 1/23/2008, 1/25/2008, 1/26/2008, 1/27/2008, 1/28/2008, 1/29/2008, 1/30/2008, 2/1/2008, 2/2/2008

100 practice bats...
[pic]
...like that, I've been spending my days practicing at home...huh? Wait a minute. A practice bat hits the ball. That's not right. Maybe 100 practice swings is closer to what I've been doing. (LOL) I've been throwing my body into nothing but repitition!
Since my debut I've been bad at memorizing lyrics. (;´▽`A` Even when they're lyrics that I wrote. (LOL)
I didn't think that my IQ was that bad...ga ha ha ha ha.
I'm in the middle of memorizing the lyrics to "No Border"'s coupling song "Hero." Every time I hear it, I get emotional and tear up. They're warm and gentle, wonderful lyrics. I feel like I could cry (T^T) the same as Fukuyaman.
Last time, in the middle of rehearsing it, tears came to my eyes and I choked up. (LOL)
I'm not going to cry at the show...but how can I do that? Even if I say, "I am NOT going to cry!" I have to keep my nose from running. (LOL)
I can finally post pictures...so I posted one from Korea. It's Mr. Dany in the cold with a red nose in a 7-11.
1/22
Secret training
[pic]
Yesterday was JAM rehearsal and ???. Of course on this important day, when I woke up my neck hurt terribly...I must have slept in a weird position. (;´ー`)┌
After rehearsal ended, my neck was all like "I'm stiff!" (LOL)
And JAM's Hanshin Giants 1 ! Tiny and huge Dany-chan and Hika-chan...
1 This sounds like the name of a baseball team, but I don't think that it's a real one.
1/23
It snowed!
This morning I was surprised at the snowy landscape. Today I'm at home working out etc. to prepare for the tour.
Meanwhile, I want to thank people for always posting on my BBS. I want to respond to all of the messages but there are so many (LOL) so that would be difficult. So I'm borrowing this place to send my thanks to everybody.
Thank you! Please support me in 2008 too...
1/25
Happy yellow t-shirt
[pic]
Yesterday was JAM rehearsal. The drummer, Hideki, wore a "Dany's" t-shirt for me. Awww...even though he's young, he so loyal! (LOL) I was soooo happy that he was so considerate. (^З^)-☆
We ran through the show two times. We could see how it's all going to fit together.
And we're slowly getting more and more new types of goods!
1/26
La la la...
[pic]
I watched "Music Fair." Playing piano for Yui Aragaki was Kouhei, who looked like he was having fun.
The way his left foot follows the rhythm, and the small things he does when he plays...it made me feel very nostalgic. (LOL)
And I smiled in front of the TV...
Lately I feel like I've been energized by the "Dany's" members...thank you, young people! (LOL)
1/27
First shrine visit
[pic]
Today I went to Kawazaki Daiji for the first time in 2008, to pray that JAM's tour is a huge success.
Even though it's almost February, the place was crowded and congested.
And my first fortune of the year was "kichi" 1...mmmmm.... (⌒~⌒; it's so-so... (LOL)
1 See what the rankings of "omikuji," or "fortunes," are here.
1/28
Catching swords
[pic]
...I failed. (LOL) 1
Today was JAM rehearsal again. We were goofing off. I kind of did a little too much... (LOL)
It's really only a short time until the show...I'm looking forward to it...
1 I believe that this is a kendo exercise.
1/29
Once again...
[pic]
Catching swords...
...I failed. (HA HA)
Yep, he's the dreaded swordmaster...either that or I'm really slow. (LOL)
Today was JAM rehearsal too. It's finally the last day! This time, the members and the band were strict and perfect.
All that's left is the dress rehearsal and the show! I want to see everybody soon...
1/30
Girly old man
[pic]
The first thing this morning, before the beauty shops opened, I went to the usual (LOL) shop in Kouenji.
After that I went to the usual (LOL) shop in Shibuya and bought clothes for the tour.
2/1
No more war
2008 is going fast. Today is the first day of February. Tomorrow the JAM tour finally starts.
Yesterday we had dress rehearsal at the first hall, Toda Cultural Center. The band, the staff, the members are working hard. Expect an awesome live show.
Ooooh, I'm getting excited....
2/2
Good morning!
The weather? It's not bad...that's good...but it's really really cold! Yesterday I had a good night's sleep, and before the alarm clock went off I felt awake,
and I took a shower, and I shaved, and I did my hair, and I drank some hot cafe au lait.
Then, so I wouldn't forget anything, I got my luggage in order, and then I finally left. To everybody who's coming to Toda: "Let's burn out!"

Hiroshi Kitadani Diary Update - 1/16/2008, 1/17/2008
1/16
New Year's party...
[pic]
Today is Lantis's New Year's Party. The concert hall is bigger than usual...so the number of people who came has multiplied! d(^0^)b Isn't it great?
With that huge of a party, everyone gets into the toasts. I did one with JAM.
In 2008, with the strength I get from everyone, I'm going to make the great music you want.
The picture is a person I met who is from Yamaguchi prefecture.
I can't rotate the picture... (;_;)
1/17
Oh! I don't have a good towel...(LOL)
[pic]
Today was the second day of JAM rehearsal. We finally ran through all of the songs.
The drummer, Hideki, seemed a little nervous, since he's the youngest.
But his natural good nature gradually appeared...from now on, his natural spontaneous personality is probably going to burst now. (LOL)
In the middle was Hideki's roadie, Hiroshi Gokurou-san.
Why? I can't edit this JPG... (;´ー`)┌

Hiroshi Kitadani Diary Update - 1/11/2008, 1/12/2008, 1/13/2008, 1/14/2008, 1/15/2008
1/11
From my house, with love...
[pic]
Yesterday and today were full of preparations for JAM's tour and the Korea event.
Every day, the weather in Tokyo is nice and warm, but according to some information on my BBS, Korea is extremely...cold. (;´ー`)┌ Awww...
By the way, I'm at a certain site. (LOL) There's always delicious-looking Chinese tea, and right here there's good alcohol. (LOL)
I received this bottle from a fan. The mellow and rich flavor makes other alcohol look like water. Wow! This must be the rare "Hagi no Kura Unprocessed Sake." But it's all gone now. (LOL)
1/12
A good day to start a trip
Well, I'm finally departing for Korea. I'm getting out good old Mr. Suitcase. Of course I'm looking forward to the live, but I'm always looking forward to hotttttt food. (LOL) Well, I picked a good place to sing for the first time this year. I want to take all of the chances I can this year. Everyone in Korea, wait for me!
1/13
Anyohaseyo! 1
[pic]
Yesterday we got to Korean after 10 PM. Then we drank a little bit.
It wasn't a little bit. (LOL)
So! It's the first stage of this year, and I'm with Mizuki-san.
Rehearsal just finished. I'm looking forward to the show.
I'll work hard zeeeeeeeeetto!
Notes:
1 "Hello" in Korean
1/14
Second day in Korea
[pic]
Tonight's live was on fire. Everyone said I was great, but the Koreans' passion was great.
At the beginning of the show, the lights over the audience went out and they started doing the "Aniki call" all together. (LOL) "Hey, is it okay for me to come out while this is going on?" I asked. I got kind of impatient (LOL)...but during the SE it became the "Dani call." Honestly, I was relieved. (LOL)
They said that singing and MCing all in Japanese was okay, so I could talk to everybody without stressing.
When I performed alone, from "We Are!" to "Smile," I felt moved and grateful that Japanese anime and tokusatsu songs are loved so much in Korea.
Then, after Mizuki-san's performance, there was an encore. We sang "Psybuster" and "Majinger Z" together.
This was the country that I said I wanted to go to in the survey in the JAM book. I got to go to Korea and it was the first time I performed this year, so 2008 is already looking like a good year! I'll do my best! Everybody in Korea, thank you. Next time, I'll see you as one of the six members of JAM.
And soon I'm going to meet another of the alpha and omega strongest legendary men. (LOL) Two shows 1 with my Shimoseki brother, Yuuzou-san.
Notes:
1 Not sure on this
1/15
I'm home
Yesterday was shopping day in Korea.
The weather was great...but it was -7 degrees. (LOL) From the soles of my feet to the marrow of my bones, I felt frozen.
We went to a lot of different stores and walked around and looked at everything from groceries to clothing.
Of course I looked at the groceries. (LOL) Especially the capsicum (coarsely ground). 500 grams can kill or injure somebody, or not... It was considered a weapon at the airport, and they stopped me and they got angry and pushy with me. (LOL) Yep, Korean power.
And I was delighted that I could have makgeolli every day. (LOL) I got up at 5 AM! As soon as I arrived in Tokyo, I met up with everyone for the JAM rehearsal. The members and the band and the staff were all great! We finished the first day in good shape.
But there's a huge pile of things that I personally need to work on. (LOL) I'll work really hard, so I'm looking forward to it.
I also had a long-awaited reunion with Hikarudo. Let's work together on the tour and do our best!

Hiroshi Kitadani Diary Update - 12/28/2007, 12/30/2007, 1/1/2008, 1/6/2008, 1/7/2008,
12/28
Hey! What do you mean, rain?! (9 ̄^ ̄)9
[pic]
Even though the weather's been so nice...furthermore, they're saying it's going to continue until tomorrow evening...how do they pinpoint it like that? (LOL)
Today was rehearsal for the party, and then after the final meeting, I went to Nii-san's studio.
I had a lecture on my new home recording equipment--the lecturer was Kageyama-sensei. Hearing what he said was more useful than reading the instructions. The lecture easier to understand...he's so good at teaching!
It was in contrast to his lectures about singing. (LOL) You were a kind teacher. Thank you.
Alright! In preparation for tomorrow, I'm going to drink and go to bed!
Oh yeah, it's sudden, but in our excitement for 2008, we've made an exciting decision! After the long wait (consult JAM's capture book), we're going to Korea. Details are in "News."
12/30
Emotions and regret (⌒~⌒;A
Yesterday was the final work? singing? of the year, at the Solid Vox fanclub party. The crowd that came and the celebs and the gentlemen, and the hall and the food and everybody was too wonderful...(LOL) Thank you for an incredibly nice time. When I saw people off I could shake their hands and talk a little bit...I wonder if I'll be able to get even closer to everybody. Thank you so much for everything this year.
Then, immediately after I went to the Solid Vox end-of-year party--I was stuck in the same place. (LOL) The mood was serious. Before we drank, we had a chugging contest with "Strong Tumeric." (LOL) I'm thinking about it now, but...we ate the shop's main dish, but I don't remember what was in the pot. (HA HA) Something happened during the second round of karaoke, too, but...I don't really remember much. (;´ー`)┌
The way I drink alcohol hasn't changed in a long time. I don't have any brakes, and I wind up "ruined"...The people I was drinking with had to take turns taking care of me, and neither one of them could get drunk. (;´ー`)┌
So because of that, I've had the worst hangover all day today. My voice is hoarse and I feel terrible and I can't eat anything.... It took half the day until my body went back to normal. Well, that's how it always is. (LOL)
I was supposed to be at JAM's (new) band's rehearsal, but without my setting one foot outside of my house, New Year's Eve is over. But, I got a message from Hideki that said, "It's just like you!" so I felt better. He's Dany's number 1 big-shot. (LOL) I'm glad that happened.
Starting next year, I want to be more serious and be careful of how I drink alcohol...Because I have to go overseas, I should be careful of my health.
1/1
Happy new year!
[pic]
Everybody, "Happy new year!" Tokyo entered 2008 with beautiful weather.
Everyone who took care of me last year, thank you, and I'm counting on you this year, too.
Yesterday was last year's greatest task! I fought hard--it was a repeat of a repeat. (LOL) I finally succeeded in booting up my M-Box! I can finally take my place among the ranks of the ProTool users.
This year, I want to challenge myself in songmaking using this machine.
In 2008, I'll work harder than I did last year. Please keep your expectations of me...
1/6
New machine
[pic]
I'm sorry that it's been so long since I've updated my diary...since it's New Year's, I tried drinking during the day whenever I want, and eating whatever I want, and sleeping whenever I want. (LOL)
I tried the "useless human being" (LOL) lifestyle for one day...and...
...it felt really dangerous. (゜o゜;)
How scary...how terrible...
So I went back to my normal lifestyle and memorized songs for Mizuki-san's event and of course for JAM's tour, and I read the manual for my new machine and fought with it. (LOL) I also worked out a little bit. This year, my physical condition is more important than usual.
Oh yeah! Takagawa School from Yamaguchi is in the high school soccer finals! You can do it!
I'm going to Mizuki-san's 40th-year live today. Happy birthday, Mizuki-san.
Oh yeah! The photo is my new buddy. Smooch! ( ^ З^)-☆
1/7
Zeeeeeeeed!
Yesterday I went to Mizuki-san's live. He turned 60, so he sang 60 songs. It was a 5-hour-long live.
However...why are anison singers so young? At concerts and at meetings and at whatever they do, their eyes are just like a young boy's. (LOL)
This year makes 40 years since Mizuki-san's debut. "I'm not at full power yet!" he said.
Please stay just like this in Korea. Good work, and congratulations.
1/8
Happy Birthday
[pic]
Kuwayan!...that is, today was Kuwa-chan's 40th birthday. Happy birthday!
When I went to Solid Vox to get the papers for my visa to Korea, I received a lot of New Year's cards from everybody. Thank you.
1/10
Long time no seeeee!
[pic]
Yesterday I was a guest in Sakura Nogawa's Marshmallow Time. I hadn't seen Sakura-chan since the summer. It's been a very long time. The broadcast is on the day for "No Border" pre-orders, January 22.
After that I went to JAM's new band's rehearsal...do your best, new band.

Hiroshi Kitadani Diary Update - 12/23/2007, 12/24/2007, 12/25/2007, 12/26/2007
12/23
Thank you, everybody!
[pic]
Yesterday was the last chapter of my monthly lives. It rained, which is unusual. I wonder if that was sad rain for us...
First of all, the Shibuya Cyclone was the first "house." The green room and the stage and guest seating area were big, so it was good! As soon as I entered the building, I ran into a huge floral arrangement. It said it was from "All of the awakers." (iдi) Don't make me cry!
There were a lot of flowers from other fans and groups of fans too...I'm going to try to thank everybody.
So, of course that motivated me. Before the band members went out on stage, we yelled "Let's have a fun show with no regrets!"
From the first song, everyone was in perfect unison. That almost made me cry. To all the members, for your M-Jump, and for your smiles this year, thank you so much.
People who came to see me from far away, people who came to every show, people who came in the middle, people who didn't do any of this but still supported me: because I could feel your love, I could run around in this space I love with all of my might. Thank you.
After it was over, the members of Dani's said such kind words to all of the Hiroshi Kitadani fans...when I heard those words, I got emotional again...
I will carry the people that I met while I was performing these monthly lives for people, and also the memories that I was able to give those people this year, in 2008 with gratitude.
Merry Christmas! I want to wish everyone a wonderful Christmas. Also, today is the guitarist Koukei's 24th birthday. Happy birthday.
Don't make this old man cry... (LOL)
Also, I should be focusing on tomorrow's Jumpfest, but...I was so happy that I drank too much. (LOL)
12/24
Jumpfest
[pic]
I instantly woke up at the end of my nap. For some reason, I can always get up the second I open my eyes. Always! Without delay...maybe it's because of the pressure...I wonder whether I actually sleep soundly? (LOL)
Yesterday, I left the house with plenty of time left. I walked in really really early, like I was supposed to be there. (LOL) I had so much time, I could've made tea. (LOL)
So I used that time to prepare for the concert. As usual, there were tons of people there. Apparently, on just the first day, there were close to 100,000 people.
First, I was at the Marvelous Booth, at the Yugioh stage with Psychic Lover. In the excited audience I spotted the yellow towel and wristband that I've become used to seeing. (LOL) I was so comfortable and happy! Thank you!
Next I was at Touei Animation. Since there were voice actors and the One Piece group there, I participated in a talk as well as sang. The talk was kind of racy...(LOL) And a lot of characters were invoked...
I am so, so grateful that a theme song that I sang eight years ago is still loved so much by One Piece fans!
Then, when I got home, I ate a pirate lunch, and then drank at night. However, I wasn't sleepy, for some reason. It must've been because I was still riled up after two days of excitement.
Good work, everybody, and thank you.
When I tried to post on my message board, it was marked as spam. (LOL) How come? Since I can't post it there, I'll post it here.
"Thank you for support!
Thank you from this which is very nice!"
New friends and old friends (LOL), and of course the regulars, thank you for posting.
12/25
Merry Christmas
[pic]
How did everybody spend Christmas Eve yesterday and Christmas today?
On Christmas Eve, after talking to Yao-san in the One Piece green room at the Jumpfest the other day, I somehow wound up eating cheese fondue in our neighborhood. The roads were really crowded on Christmas Eve.
In addition to cheese fondue, we also shared minced tuna.
We had the Christmas Eve set menu! Was the alcohol Christmassy? We had wine, Beaujolais Nouveau (...too late). Ha ha ha. The truth is, it was my first time eating cheese fondue. I felt kind of high-class. (LOL) With only one bottle of wine, I got pretty drunk, and it was delicious. Yao-san, thank you for the meal. And merry Christmas.
12/26
On Christmas night...
[pic]
Yesterday was rehearsal for Solid Vox's end-of-year party, and then I went to mix JAM's "No Border."
Also, according to the BBS, there's a big game convention in Sapporo. I remember those! Of course I remember...anyway, today is the Neapolitan affair (LOL) which is going to become famous.
I don't have a picture (LOL), so here's the pirate lunch I mentioned the other day (chopsticks included).

Hiroshi Kitadani Diary Update - 12/18/2007, 12/19/2007, 12/20/2007, 12/21/2007, 12/22/2007
12/18
It's pretty cold...
Yesterday I was attached to my computer working all day on things that are due soon or coming up this weekend, practice for my solo live, etc. And in order to make "Perfection" more beautiful, I added lyrics to a new song that I haven't released yet--that is, November's (tentative) new love song.
I also added the details of Jumpfest to the News section!
Now is a JAM meeting and recording...
"Real Love"
Full of prayers for eternal love, now I make an oath to the night sky
We met thanks to a miracle
And fell in love as fast as a shooting star
Our love is wrapped in vague dreams
Now change the dreams to primary colors
There's no "What should I do?" It almost hurts
I can see that I love you, that this is fate
I'm being absorbed by your eyes, your lips
Let's keep embracing until the end of the world
Like I'm under a spell, I feel our love and I'm drowning in you again
As the years go by, our love will get stronger
I'll fall in love with you again
Nobody will taint our wings as we fly into the future
Because this is real love
Your past and your tears, they're all right
I'll absorb the blows for you with overflowing gentleness
I want to see you and I want to touch you now, I'm making an oath for eternity
With a love that never lies I'll lead you safely through life
I promise, I can't live without you
I'm being absorbed by your eyes, your lips
Let's keep embracing until the end of the world...
I want to see you and I want to touch you now, I'm making an oath for eternity
With a love that never lies I'll lead you safely through life
I promise, I can't live without you
12/19
The city is Christmassy
[pic]
Yesterday, on top of the JAM recording, I recorded a radio show, etc etc etc...And we had a passionate meeting about my upcoming live. (⌒▽⌒)ツ
Now, I have urgent news. I posted it in the News section too, but there's additional information about the Jumpfest on the 23rd! At the Touei Animation booth, I'm going to perform with the voice actors from "One Piece!" It'll be "We Are," of course.
And the second set of lyrics for Perfection is a self-centered, cutesy, aggressive song. (;´ー`)┌ In Shibuya Cyclone Hall on the 22nd, I'll kill the darkness, and everyone will remember Dani's Sword. (LOL)
"Sword of Justice"
(Final count down! We never give it up!)
They sneak up on this planet that is full of love
The nightmares that threaten our peace
If you pray for peace, a boundless power will spring forth
Release the power in order to protect it
When you're unsure about something,
I'll show you the way with my sword
Shake off a sword (birth!)
Cut darkness apart and
Take back the shining future!
Sword of justice (awakening!)
Do a heroic dance
With a song of truth, come on! Hey! Hey! Hey!
(Final countdown! We never cry!)
In my image of the future, this planet is still blue
I'll believe in the dawn and keep praying
Don't wield it for yourself, do it for someone else
The legendary sword that is passed down
If you hold up your fist bravely
Your blade will light up the future
Shake off a sword (destiny!)
Cut darkness apart and
Grab the eternal proof of fate!
Sword of justice (advent!)
A miracle floats down
Onto your soul's voice, come on! Hey! Hey! Hey!
(Final countdown! We never give it up!)
Shake off a sword (inheritance!)
Cut darkness apart and
Take back the shining future!
Sword of justice (explosion!)
Do a heroic dance
With a song of truth, come on! Hey! Hey! Hey!
(Final countdown! We never cry!)
12/20
Part 3
Yesterday, JAM recorded "No Border"'s coupling song. Fukuyaman was as funny as usual. (LOL) He's a great friend that I respect but for some reason I keep laughing. (LOL) We're recording today, too--our first original single is almost complete!
Today's lyrics are, finally, this month's new song, a Christmas song. As usual, the title is still undecided. (LOL)
Happy! Merry Christmas! Happy! Merry Christmas!
Happy! Merry Christmas! We wish a Merry Christmas!
Happy! Merry Christmas! Happy! Merry Christmas!
I will celebrate X'mas with you
When I was little, I couldn't reach it even on tiptoe
The star called "hope" on top of the big tree
Let's decorate--we can do it now!
Frozen white breath, before the snow of sadness piles up
If they untie a red ribbon, everybody smiles
Now, let's sing, on this holy night
Happy! Merry Christmas! Happy! Merry Christmas!
Happy! Merry Christmas! We wish a Merry Christmas!
Happy! Merry Christmas! Happy! Merry Christmas!
I will celebrate X'mas with you
Let's make the month merry and make a toast to the future all over the world
By putting our cold, heavy hands together
We can warm ourselves to the heart
If, higher than the stars, higher than anybody
We hang a wreath of dreams, the world can become peaceful
Now, let's pray, on this holy night
Happy! Merry Christmas! Happy! Merry Christmas!
Happy! Merry Christmas! We wish a Merry Christmas!
Happy! Merry Christmas! Happy! Merry Christmas!
I will celebrate X'mas with you
12/21
Recording "getto da ze"!
[pic]
Yesterday was JAM recording again. We did my chorus part and Rika-chan's part that she couldn't do yesterday because of work.
Yesterday, Makkun, whose part was finished, stopped by to visit while she was shopping. Oooh! I like JAM. d(^0^)b
Of course, Niisan directed. He was in a good mood because of his new guitar. (LOL) He had a little bit of a cold, but it turned out okay.
Well, today is Jump Fest rehearsal...
12/22
Finally
Yesterday was Jump Fest rehearsal. Makuhari's atmosphere is always exciting. Before that, I did some end-of-year cleaning around the kitchen, and got the ventilation fan all clean. It's a painful, but it makes me happy when it's clean.
And today is the last chapter of the monthly live...at least I think so, but the weather...but I decided, "sonnan kankei nee!"

12/13
Oops!
I keep neglecting my diary. σ(^_^;) Sorry! I'm fine!
Yesterday, in preparation for the end of the year, I finally went to get a haircut. Whenever I get a shampoo or a massage, I feel nervous and guilty for some reason... It's a character flaw of mine, but whenever I received something, I feel bad. (LOL) On the other hand, I love giving. (LOL)
That soft-heartedness has caused me all kinds of problems. (;´ー`)┌ Ha ha ha.
Then, after my haircut, I recorded a draft of a song at home. I'm not in a rush but I was asked to write this song before. It's a pretty depressing enka. 1 (LOL) I'm telling you, I have to make a lot of decisions about this.
Anyway, today is rehearsal and the big chatroom meeting.
Notes:
1 Enka is a traditional Japanese form of singing.
12/14
Today
[pic]
Rehearsal for age-san's live tomorrow? today?, and after that, a chat on Solid Vox. I used it as a platform for news. I chatted until 11:00. (LOL) And I stuttered. (HA HA)
Niisan and Chiini and Makkun are doing preliminary recording for JAM. Thanks for your work.
And today, I planned to go to bed early, but...when I started drinking, before I knew it, it was past 2:00. (;´ー`)┌
Oh no! My complexion! (LOL) I have to go to bed! Zzzz...
Anyways, they've announced the band for the tour! Bass is Ikuo-chan, and drums is Hideki! o(⌒▽⌒)ツ For details, look at JAM's official site.
12/15
Thanks
[pic]
Yesterday was the annual age-san event.
First, I did one solo song for the opening. Today, I had too much energy, and I was too strong, and when I sang my jaw came unhinged...I think. (LOL)
Yesterday, various important things happened. (HA HA) Thanks to all of the age users, we sold 50 Hiroshi Kitadani original towels! There are only 6 left! They'll definitely sell out at the Perfection live. If it doesn't happen, then I can't begin a new year. (LOL)
Everyone who came, thank you for your smiles and cheers yesterday. And to the performers and band members, good work. To the people who couldn't come, thank you for cheering us on from home!
Now, today is solo live rehearsal!
12/16
The mask straps made my ears hurt... (LOL)
[pic]
Yesterday was solo live rehearsal.
The culmination of a year of monthly lives...It's kind of emotional...Through it all, Hideki was always a comedian. (LOL) While performing with JAM, keep it up. (LOL)
The set list is louder than usual, and I wound up singing too much...my jaw hurts. ( ̄▽ ̄;) Everyone, please look forward to the Perfection live on the 22nd.
Also, at the final dinner, we went to the usual shop, and I ate as much as usual. Ahh, my jaw hurts. (LOL)
Anyway, starting now is the JAM recording...
12/17
No Border
[pic]
Yesterday was JAM's recording. It's going to become next year's slogan, so it's an important song. It's full of various wishes and thoughts. Also, we met the band members. I'm looking forward to the live tour.

Endless Dream - Hiroshi Kitadani (translation)
Lyrics: Hiroshi Kitadani
Composition: IPPEI
With the strongest card, take it:
The endless dream of the shining duel!
The miraculous drama awoken by courage
Never ends
Let's turn problems into chances
We definitely can
Cross the rainbow bridge
And grab the future
Together they fight
On the other side of the door
There's a black shadow standing in the way
Burn it with crimson flames!
With the strongest card, take it:
The endless dream of the shining duel!
Whatever painful moments we see,
We're wrapped in our believing friends' smiles
Attach our destiny to our friends
And the journey continues
We can't stop
Hang on to the thrill
Together have a dream
In the sky above
There's far-stretching eternity
And a sparkling tomorrow
With the true battle, learn
About the key that connects heart to heart
Now, we will become one
Carve a prayer for victory into your heart!
Cross the rainbow bridge
And grab the future
Together they fight
On the other side of the door
There's a black shadow standing in the way
Burn it with crimson flames!
Struggle along to the goal of glory
With the passion that will never burn out!
Pass through it with infinite power
To reach the promised paradise!

Hiroshi Kitadani Diary Update - 12/5/2007, 12/6/2007, 12/7/2007, 12/8/2007
12/5
Solo....
[pic]
Yesterday was my solo live rehearsal. You must be thinking, "What? Already?" Well, that's because of these busy young people. (LOL) Trying to adjust December's schedule was... ( ̄▽ ̄;) So it's been pretty chaotic. I also finished the main part of last month's new song. Anyway, this is this year's final solo live. Everyone, wish me good health.
Also, Animetic Land's Kuma-chan came to the rehearsal studio for research.
So the issue released on December 12 will have Hiroshi Kitadani and all of the Dani's!
We pretended to be energetic so she wouldn't see how tired we were, and weren't afraid to use bad words. (LOL) Typical youth! That's my Dani's....oh ho ho.
12/6
No alcohol allowed for a week...
Yesterday, I finally got to go to the hospital, but there were so many people that I had to wait for more than 2 hours. (;´ー`)┌
But it was worth it. I don't know whether it was the doctor or the great medicine (LOL), but I was able to eat normally for the first time in five days. Everyone, I'm sorry that I made you worry. I'm looking forward to my recovery.
Meanwhile, I went to the studio in the evening, to do a secret secret for a secret (LOL) Mixdown. I saw Kohno-san for the first time in a long time. I saw Hige too, and he was dressed even better than usual. He spends a lot of time working on his appearance, and he's looking like a fashionable old man! (LOL) Why? So he could see me at this mix? Hee hee hee! This is not that song! The lyrics, the music, and the singing are all by "Hiroshi Kitadani." Until I can tell you more about it, wait for it!
Tonight is the @Tunes broadcast. Tomorrow I'm going to Nagoya.
12/7
That reminds me! A few days ago...
[pic]
I recorded a net radio show.
"Momoi," Haruko Momoi-chan's, net radio "The Rise and Fall of the Filn Empire" corner.
http://www.filnradio.net
It'll be up on December 20.
12/8
I'm allowed to have alcohol! (LOL)
[pic]
Yesterday I went to campaign in Nagoya with 4 of JAM's 6 members. It started with the NHK live broadcast, and ended with Toukai Radio's live performance, and there was miso stew time, and we were celebrities. (LOL) And we got in a tea break. We worked hard on the campaign.
When we go back there next year on February 11, I hope that the whether is as nice as it was yesterday. I hope I can meet the people in the Toukai region again.
And on the shinkansen on the way back, I finally drank alcohol again....ahhhh.....great. (LOL)

Hiroshi Kitadani Diary Update - 11/30/2007, 12/1/2007, 12/2/2007, 12/4/2007
11/30
JAM's grandmoth...big sister
Yesterday was the "Sailor Fuku no Matsumossan Bun" recording. "I have to do this, too?" I'm going to end up filling up on too many delicious things. (LOL) Considering everyone's talent, of course it was good! JAM has some gender-ambiguous members. We had so much fun that we looked like idiots. We fused that with coolness, and ended up with one interesting song. It's packed with short little remarks!
Also, today is Rika-chan's birthday. Happy birthday!...
12/1
One more month left in this year...
It really feels like winter now. Yesterday was my major debut anniversary. I want to make this a year full of the meaning of my last 14 years. I renovated "News" so please look at it...
12/2
Hooray! JAPAN...
Japan's and Korea's baseball teams, it was a nice game. I was nervous and excited. Thank you.
Meanwhile, my health has crashed, and it was a terrible weekend. Everyone, please be careful of your health.
Because of that, there's a going to be a delay in the new song composition I'd planned for December. (LOL) My trials continue but...when I thought ahead to the new songs for "Perfection," I decided on a typical Christmas song.
I don't want to write a super-happy song, but a deep, wide song with which I can express many people's Christmas memories...maybe?
Anyways, I'm looking ahead to my recovery.
12/4
Hooray! Hooray! Hoshino JAPAN...
Today was recording in the metropolitan studio. The details are a secret, as usual (LOL).
Meanwhile, during Asia's last preliminary competition for the Beijing Olympics with Taiwan, I watched with sweaty palms. They worked so hard.
I listened to the after-game interview with the coach and the team with a lump in my throat. Ahhh, sports are great. Thank you for moving me.

Hiroshi Kitadani Diary Update - 11/21/2007, 11/24/2007, 11/25/2007, 11/28/2007, 11/29/2007
11/21
Nostalgic...
[pic]
Yesterday was rehearsal for the 24th. I chased my dreams in this place, starting from when I made my demo tape 22 years ago. There are so many memories left in this place.
From that time I have been indebted to Matsutani-san. His face still hasn't changed, and he still works as hard as ever.
And now, in this place, there are all of these young people working. Ooh...such passion. Everyone, please support me at my show!
11/24
In the middle of the show...
[pic]
Meguro Live Station is on fire...
11/25
Viva! Anison...
[pic]
At yesterday's anison event, young people covered JAM's "Rocks" and Lapis's Guilty Gear song (LOL), which even the original singers haven't performed. Thank you! I haven't sent my pictures in to the performers' photograph collection yet... (LOL)
11/28
Solid Vox's...
...year-end event meeting. Thanks to you, more people are going to come to this year's Christmas party than in previous years. We're going to think of ways to entertain people who come because we want you to have fun, so please look forward to it.
11/29
Sailor uniforms and JAM's old men...
[pic]
Yesterday was JAM"s secret...well, as usual...we can't really say that this time. 1 (LOL) I was surprised...for details, see the official site. (LOL)
I didn't think it was possible to sing this song...I've sung it many times in karaoke, but it was really difficult. We couldn't really get the feeling of that unique melody curve. ( ̄▽ ̄;)
But we did it! JAM's heat and depth with a playful side...
Ah, it was fun...
Nii-san, good work today...
Notes:
1 JAM Project covered "Motteke!! Sailor Fuku" from the anime Lucky Star, and I guess they meant to keep it secret, but the secret was let out on their sites bulletin board. You can hear the song here. Here's the original for comparison.

Hiroshi Kitadani Diary Update - 11/15/2007, 11/17/2007, 11/18/2007, 11/19/2007, 11/20/2007
11/15
FYI, etc...
[pic]
We expected the last chapter of the monthly lives to be December's "Perfection," but...we messed up the ticket distribution, and we can't sell tickets through the ticket agency.
You can read the details in News. I'm very sorry for the inconvenience.
So! In the middle of all that, today was the day after tomorrow's "Explosion"'s last rehearsal. Acoustic...are we really going to end on that? Isn't the name of the live "Explosion"? I'm still wondering about it... (LOL) I want to perform in top physical condition! It seems to be fashionable to have a cold these days.
11/17
Finally
[pic]
Today is the "Explosion" live. The weather? It's sunny after all. (⌒▽⌒) It's cold but we're going to heat Nobuto up! Tomorrow is a school festival, so I guess we're going for as many parties as possible? I'll try to not drink too much! (LOL) Well well, I'm going to go do "Explosion."
11/18
Organization into two parts
[pic]
I finished the "Explosion" live. There were some new songs in the first 10 songs. Then there was the piano-centered acoustic live, and then 10 encore songs. (LOL) This "Explosion" live was the first time that my usual band experimented so I was nervous in a good way, and it turned out to be a lot of fun. It was the first time in that venue as well. I wasn't really under a lot of pressure, but there were a lot of technical difficulties too. To all of the people who came, I'm sorry. Well, all that's left is the live on the 22nd of next month, and then this year's monthly lives will be over. For the members of "Danny's" that have grown up with me, and for my wonderful and awesome fans, I'll make "Perfection" a thing of beauty.
The picture is a souvenir from Thailand that I received from Kouhei. They're silk boxers covered in elephants.
11/19
A hot school festival...
[pic]
Yesterday was the second school festival this year. The gymnasium was crowded with awesome people who love anison. Their passion peaked! It was an everyday stage, but I worked up a good sweat. Thank you! Also, the performers: Niisan, Chiinii, Momoi, Chihhii, good work! I want to go to more school festivals in more places and meet more people. I'll try to do that! Good work, members of the executive committee! Thank you for taking care of us! I'll go on with the eyes of a boy today too. 1
Notes:
1 This is 少年の瞳のままで, the name of Dani's website.
11/20
JAM photography get-together...
[pic]
Yesterday was a photoshoot for JAM members, and radio and DVD recording, etc. etc. Morning until afternoon were full of work. But the sun sets fast in the winter, doesn't it? All of a sudden we're in a cold, wintery world. (LOL) I froze to the bones. Once again, I find myself appreciating the sun's importance. I'll be careful to not let my health go downhill.
Anyways, I have some emergency announcements... 1
Notes:
1 It's too late for this information anyways... If you really care and really want to see a translation of it, let me know.

Hiroshi Kitadani Diary Update - 11/11/2007, 11/12/2007, 11/14/2007
11/11
These two days...
[pic]
Yesterday was JAM's recording, but actually it was dubbing the music. Daniel, the Dani from Brazil who's famous for having a tattoo of Niisan (LOL) and his friends came to hang out. He showed me his new, real tattoo. It was so pretty! It looked just like Niisan. (LOL)
The Brazilian Dani is a handsome man. Work harder, Japanese Dani! (HA HA)
I'm working on secret lyrics (LOL) and lyrics, song writing, and work for the solo live, so I went to the studio early. In the middle of the night, I finally finished writing the secret lyrics.
Today I went to a performance of Mayumi Tanaka's at Shimokitazawa Honda theater.
I saw Oda-san, who wrote "One Piece," and Yao-san etc. for the first time in a while. Everyone seems busy, same as usual. After the performance, they all ran off. All of the performers did great!
Well, all that's left is the lyrics to the new song. I'll try to make it sweet!
11/12
Kuma-chan Wa's....
[pic]
...interview in my office. I did it together with Chiini. The issue goes out November 25!
Before that, I went shopping for outfits at 109 for the first time in a while. As usual, it was a cross-dresser's paradise. It was full of glamour. (LOL)
The lyrics to the love song....are more difficult than I thought. (;´ー`)┌
11/14
Sweeeeeeeeet!
[pic]
Yesterday, for the first time in a long time (LOL), we recorded an episode of Anipara Ongakukan where I was a singing guest.
My song was, of course, "Endless Dream." It was the first time I sang it live on TV, so I was a little nervous, but I sang it okay. It'll air on Wednesday, November 28, so look forward to it, okay?
Anyway, today I wrote lyrics and practiced singing to my own accompaniment all day. Tomorrow's the last rehearsal, so I barely made it... (;´ー`)┌ Good, good. But I still haven't chosen a title. (LOL) I'll just call it "Love Song" for now.
I'm still trying and trying and trying to get the songs to soak into my body.
The picture is a picture I received in a message from Hideki-kun. He discovered a "Dani-kun" in a pet shop! Apparently, he's cheap but....he lives a long time too. (HA HA)

Hiroshi Kitadani Diary Update - 11/6/2007, 11/7/2007, 11/8/2007
11/6
I'm okay! (LOL)
[pic]
I'm sorry I worried you! This weekend's deadline for the JAM song and this month's new song for the solo live...and writing lyrics that are still a secret (LOL)...I'm busy with all kinds of things lately.
Today was coverage for Anison Magazine. Even though it was a 3-4 page special feature, I talked for about 12 pages (HA HA). In the middle of the interview, I started to think, "Ah! Do I talk too much?" a little bit...(LOL)
But I'm glad I could say everything I wanted to say. I'm also glad that I could look back objectively on what "Hiroshi Kitadani" has been like until now.
Can I finish all this stuff up neatly? (LOL) It'll all be released during the first 10 days of December. You'll understand everything if you read Anison Magazine. Everyone, look forward to it by all means!
And tomorrow is rehearsal for the solo live.
11/7
I'm coming, I'm riding it...
[pic]
...by Miho Nakayama (LOL)
This is Hideki-kun, his generation doesn't know that song...
Today was rehearsal for my solo live, "Explosion." I tried out many many many things that I've been wanting to try with the acoustic.
I have a feeling that it's gonna be a lot of fun. Of course, once in awhile (LOL) there's gonna be the sound of an explosion. It feels really awesome, maybe. Ahhh...maybe I'm getting old, too. (LOL)
For now, I think you're going to be able to see a "Hiroshi Kitadani" that couldn't be seen until now.
It's OK to expect things from me! Anyway, let's make the 17th awesome.
11/8
I can't sleep (;´ー`)┌...
[pic]
That is, lately, even when I drink heavily before bed, I usually wake up 3 or 4 hours later. Then I think about all kinds of things, like "I have to do this and that," and then I really want to get to work. (LOL) Then I really can't sleep. (;´ー`)┌
Ah....on TV right now, Mino-san is laughing...
So, about this month's new song...I still haven't finished it (;´ー`)┌ I've been thinking, I want to make a love song that warms the winter night sky and the body and the mind like sweeeeet hot cocoa...
So! I'm making a collection of everyone's stories of sweeeeeet romance. Yawwwwwn ( ̄□ヾ) I'm sleepy.

Hiroshi Kitadani Diary Update - 11/2/2007 and 11/3/2007
11/2
It came!
Finally my new Mac came.
But it's going to be difficult from now on. I have to set a whole bunch of preferences, and I'm terrible at it. I don't read instructions. I just do it right the first time, I don't practice (LOL)
The deadline for JAM's new song is near, so I still need Mr. Mac to do his best digital performance for me!
So, yesterday was the solo live rehearsal. The acoustic was good. Because it wasn't loud. (ha ha) But the title is "Explosion"...are we really going to end it with the acoustic?
And today I'm going to the first school festival.
11/3
School Festival
It brings back good memories, campus life... (HA HA)
Honestly, I never really participated in a school festival. In those days, I went to Joukyou Douji University for the purpose of seeing Seikima II 1, and then I was debuting with Lapis 2, I think...
However, I was surprised when I saw the stage in this gymnasium! "I-i-i-i-it's huuuuuuuge!" And the ceiling, "I-i-i-i-i-it's hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh!" And the acoustics and the lighting, "A-a-a-a-a-awwwwwwwesome!"
And then the show finally started, and the audience's passion was "Aaaaaaaaaaaawesome!" Their dancing and their singing and their glowstick-waving (LOL) 3 songs wasn't enough. Let me sing more! (LOL)
The young members of the executive committee also really loved anison. They were good kids.
Thank you for a fun day. Today I was uncharacteristically late. Everybody, I'm sorry for inconveniencing you. Also, good job today.
It took me 3 hours to get there and one hour to get back. I can't read Tokyo's subway maps...
Notes:
1 Apparently it's a band.
2 Kitadani's band, Lapis Lazuli.

Hiroshi Kitadani Diary Update - 10/28/2007, 10/30/2007, 10/31/2007
10/28
With a smile
[pic]
I recorded "Smile"!
Finally, under the amazing fall sun, I completed the vocals and the chorus. Also, I'm so happy to have recorded my own melody and lyrics!
Also, we took the jacket picture that I thought we'd take the other day today, behind schedule.
We only had a short break in the recording, but I think we took a pretty good picture...I look like the 4th-ranked host in a Shinjuku host club. (LOL)
This picture is my delighted smile ("smile 1") in the car on the way home after recording.
Notes:
1 Here he writes "スマイル," (sumairu) "smile" in katakana, as opposed to "笑顔," (egao) "smile" in Japanese.
10/30
Going by train
Yesterday, we began our secret recording in the morning (LOL). Then there was a meeting about the new song in my office. Then the Solid Vox meeting ended. Finally, I went to the studio and worked on the trackdown for "Smile."
Anyway, today is JAM's press conference. I'll try not to stutter. (LOL)
10/31
It's finally over...
Yesterday was JAM's shocking 2008 press conference and information session.
I was nervous like I usually am at press conferences, but yesterday I could see the faces of all of JAM's supporters and I could relax more than usual. Thank you! In 2008, JAM Project will try our best to meet everyone's expectations. Of course, because everyone likes songs and anison...
Also, I've been working on the song that's due today all day. Right now it's a little before 1:00 A.M...I made it in time, somehow. The monthly solo live rehearsal starts tomorrow! Ah! Next
month's new song...... (;´ー`)┌ ....I'll do my best.

Hiroshi Kitadani Diary Update - 10/26/2007 and 10/27/2007
10/26
Niisan's curse?
[pic]
Yesterday, even though I was completely exhausted and went to
bed after 3:00, today is still the same old routine.
I got up at 7:07... (;´ー`)┌
Is Niisan cursing me somehow?
An old-man curse? From the west1? (LOL)
Today is finally "Danny's2" first recording. So I wouldn't forget,
I've been making preparations since the morning. It's such a pain!
I hear that we're also taking the jacket cover photo. Of course, it'll
just be me. (LOL) I think... (ha ha)
I'll carry everyone's smile and singing voice along with me, just like
at a live! I'll do my best!
Notes:
1 Sorry, I don't get the reference...
2 "Danny's" is the band that Kitadani is performing with for his
solo work.
10/27
What's with this rain? (;´ー`)┌。。。
[pic]
It's raining soooo much...it must be because of the typhoon, huh?
Well, yesterday was "Danny's" first recording. The 20-something
youngsters made the studio work fun. (By the way, the studio's
assistant engineer was 21 years old, too.)
I'm so proud of all the band members. It's a little different from
playing live, huh?
The year since we formed (LOL) seems like the blink of an eye! All
it took was, "1, 2, and..." and we recorded! It must be because of
the monthly lives.
However, it makes me feel like things how good Hideki's decisions
are and the scene at recording are unimportant, appearance-based
things...(LOL)
Also, Kouhei's elegant grand piano playing and profile are so cool
that why he doesn't have a girlfriend is a mystery... (ha ha)
Also, because I've had two days in a row of sleep deprivation, when I
went home and started drinking, I just passed out. (LOL)
Well, tomorrow we're recording the vocals for "Smile"'s chorus. I'm
going to go record an awesome song!

Hiroshi Kitadani Diary Update - 10/25/2007
This JAM...
[pic]
Is done!
This time's song parts were new...maybe.
Niisan 1 will do the arrangement.
Also, he's playing a really cool guitar part.
During the recording, everyone was in high spirits. (LOL)
The moody A-melody, the magnificent B-melody, the driving,
crackling, cool, elegant melody.
Yeah, JAM is the best!...
Notes:
1 "Big brother," i.e. Hironobu Kageyama. Remember this, we're gonna see it a lot.
